About me

My name is Anat Shushan. I capture Street Tales.

I'm a passionate and experienced street and documentary photographer from Haifa, Israel.

I Started my exiting journey in photography when I was 16 and chose to learn in an art high school.

There I was drawn into the world of dark rooms, self-developing pictures and negatives and to the magic that a camera creates.

In my army service I was a photographer and a photography instructor in the air force and continued to spread my love to this amazing art while continued to explore and develop myself in that field.

Over the years I've been experimenting all kinds of photography genres until a few years ago I found my home- street photography.

Since then, I also started experimenting documentary photography which allows to go much deeper, to really become part of my subject’s life, to get to the essence.

In my photos I tell human stories which are also my stories, my world.

Pieces of life, of seconds, of us. I become the storyteller.

I have had my work published in magazines, exhibitions all over the world and on January 2020 I was honored to be a judge at the PCI exhibition in Kolkata, India.

In the past few years I have been a part of the exciting “Progressive Street” gang which includes very gifted photographers and wonderful people from all over the world.

I am also an admin of the “Inspired Street Photography” FB group and gallery which exposes me on a daily basis to excellent photographers and views on street photography.

All these experiences are very overwhelming and help me keep learning and growing as a photographer and person and connect to my true self, to feel complete.
